Remarks by Distinguished Guests
Mr. Xu Jingkun, President of the Jiangxi Association for Science and Technology, delivered a speech. On behalf of the Jiangxi Association for Science and Technology, he extended warm congratulations on the opening of the FENDT Forum and a sincere welcome to experts, scholars, and industry colleagues from home and abroad. He noted that after more than two decades of dedicated development, the FENDT Forum has grown into a premier high-level academic and technical exchange event in the field of nondestructive testing, with a reach spanning across China and extending globally. The 2026 FENDT Forum centered on the theme “Advanced non-destructive testing promotes the development of high-end manufacturing industry” features a rich program including high-level academic presentations, an exhibition of advanced instruments and equipment, a competition tournament, a science and technology information release session, and frontier-themed academic salons. These activities will undoubtedly foster vibrant intellectual exchange and facilitate technological collaboration. Holding the 2026 FENDT Forum in Nanchang carries special significance: in 1982, with the support and encouragement of Mr. Qian Xuesen, Nanchang Hangkong University established the nation's first undergraduate program in nondestructive testing. Over the past four decades, Nanchang Hangkong University has cultivated a large number of key professionals urgently needed by the country and has come to be known as the cradle of China's NDT talent. The 2026 FENDT Forum will provide a valuable opportunity for Jiangxi province to gather top-tier expertise and cultivate new quality productive forces. He finally wished the 2026 2026 FENDT Forum a complete success.

Mr. Xu Jingkun, President of the Jiangxi Association for Science and Technology
Mr. Yan Yong, Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering and Chair of the Academic Committee of the 2026 FENDT Forum, delivered a speech. He pointed out that nondestructive testing serves as the quality guardian of industrial manufacturing processes and the protector of major equipment safety — from aerospace to energy and power, from rail transportation to advanced manufacturing, NDT shoulders the critical mission of detecting hidden risks, ensuring safety, and improving quality. The FENDT Forum has grown into a highly influential exchange platform in the field of nondestructive testing both domestically and internationally. The 2026 FENDT Forum, themed “Advanced non-destructive testing promotes the development of high-end manufacturing industry” carries profound significance. Through in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges, he said, the 2026 FENDT Forum will surely promote the deep integration of NDT technologies with the manufacturing industry and inject new momentum into the global development of nondestructive testing. He wished all participants academic growth, broadened horizons, and expanded networks.
